I was in the exact same boat just a few years ago.

I created Primal Storytelling as a way to solve my own problems, not necessarily to solve other people’s.

For a little backstory, I was an airborne Ranger in the Army. I have spent 25% of my life in the military world.

Getting out of the Army to join the civilian world was one of the hardest transitions of my entire life.

The rules are totally different as there is no hierarchy, no overarching mission and no checklist of procedures.

In the civilian world, everyone is on their own trying to figure out what to do with their life.

And to add to the difficulty, when I first got out, my wife was pregnant with our first child and wanted to quit working and be a stay-at-home mom.

Meaning I had to figure out how to earn a lot more money and had to do it fast.

The biggest thing that I learned from my time in the military is how to work.

I may not have had very many useful skills for the business world and didn’t have any connections but I did know how to outwork everyone around me.

That need to provide for my family drove me into the world of business and entrepreneurship. I dove headlong into how to start and most importantly grow a business which quickly led me to the importance of marketing.

Marketing is the lifeblood of building your personal network or growing a business. It is a noisy world out there and if you don't know how to promote yourself, no one will ever hear about you, your products, or services.

Over the years, I founded multiple companies in different industries: martial arts, technology, consulting, real estate, ecommerce, etc., and I consulted with hundreds of others.

As more people asked me how I was doing it, I finally felt the need to write down my methodology to make it easier for others to learn, and that was the birth of my international best selling book, Primal Storytelling, Marketing for Humans.

It's a distillation of my most important business and marketing learnings over 20+ years.
